Qatar Petroleum, Royal Boardroom, Doha: Signage & Wayfinding

Brief:     Wayfinding & Sign Design
Client:    Kasian
Sector:   Commercial Office

Located in the West Bay Business District in Doha, Qatar Petroleum Tower 7 is one of nine towers that forms part of the Qatar Petroleum District. The Velvet Principle were commissioned by interior architects Kasian to design the wayfinding for the Royal Boardroom Suite.

Extending across levels 41 – 44 of this 44-storey building, the Royal Suite includes executive and support staff offices, the boardroom, a terrace,  presentation and conference space. As well as delivering a high standard of customer care to VIP visitors, given the mix of private and public uses, the wayfinding needed to provide route guidance appropriate to the visit occasion.

The wayfinding journey starts with welcome signs at the entrance floor, leading visitors up and through the building to the reception. The design and materials were inspired directly by the interior design that celebrates both the industrial heritage of the company and Arabic culture, with a high quality, modern, international feel. Thereby ensuring that the information is visible when required, but melts into the background when not.
